UK Cybertruck seized

Greater Manchester Police, recently had some harsh words to say about the Tesla Cybertruck.

The Cybertruck is not legal to drive in the UK, or indeed Ireland, because it does not meet European safety regulations. However, this did not stop someone importing a model from the US and then driving it to Morrison’s Supermarket in Bury.

One thing is for sure, you cannot miss a cyber truck, so when Police saw it they stopped the vehicle to check the paperwork. They found the driver was a UK resident, but the car was registered and insured abroad. This is not allowed and the vehicle was seized. Police also pointed out that the car could not be registered and driven in the UK, as Tesla has not gained a conformity certificate.

A Police statement said, "Whilst this may seem trivial to some, legitimate concerns exist around the safety of other road users or pedestrians, if they were involved in a collision with a Cybertruck."

The concerns are genuine, as not only does the Cybertruck have many sharp edges, it also has no accident crumple zones and because it weighs over 3 tons, it can do immense damage if it hits a person or another vehicle.
