Bosch Car Service Ireland recently held its first annual meeting for workshops that are part of the growing Bosch Car Service network.

The meeting was attended by representatives from 24 garage members and took place at MKW in Baldonnel, which is itself a Bosch Car Service member, as well as being a Bosch training centre.

The event provided members with the opportunity to meet as a group for the first time, to exchange ideas and to find out about the latest developments, both with the network and Bosch products and services.

Bosch Area Manager for Ireland, Robert Glendinning, gave members an update on the fast developing network and initiatives planned over the coming months to support existing member workshops and to add new outlets to provide even more coverage for motorists and fleets.

He then provided an insight into some of the latest product developments in the Bosch range including the opportunities presented by the Bosch Denoxtronic replacement pump solution for exhaust-gas treatment systems. He also provided information on the Bosch High Voltage battery repair kits, a more sustainable alternative to replacement of complete EV batteries.

There were also a series of practical demonstrations at the meeting showing members how Bosch equipment and services can both save time on jobs and open up new business opportunities. For example, there was a demonstration of the Pass-Thru capabilities of KTS diagnostic equipment, which can allow independent workshops to code parts that might normally require vehicle manufacturer diagnostic equipment.

There was also a demonstration of the latest Bosch ADAS system, which provided workshops not yet ADAS equipped with the opportunity to talk to garages with ADAS about the significant benefits that the Bosch system can offer.

Recognising the need to service and maintain electric vehicles there was also a demonstration of how KTS can provide a full traction battery health check on one the latest Kia EV models.

Robert also presented practical plans for future Bosch training which will allow member garages to complete training modules as a group, thus meaning Bosch Car Service members can broaden their knowledge and skills in a more effective manner.

Robert commented, “I am proud of the workshops that have partnered with us so far and it was great to assemble so much knowledge in one room. We are now truly a network and together we can face the increasing challenges of our fast moving industry with confidence.”
