Wulf Gaertner Autoparts is to launch a range of 60 MEYLE glow plug repair kits to fit Mercedes Benz, VW, Citroën, Peugeot and Opel models. The innovative full-service kits come complete with the control unit and three to six glow plugs.

Most control unit failures are triggered by excessive current resulting from a defective glow plug and manifest themselves in the form of poor vehicle starting behaviour and engine roughness, frequently causing exhaust emission levels to exceed permissible limits. Vehicle manufacturers recommend that the glow plugs always be replaced along with the control unit to prevent a defective glow plug from damaging the new control unit.

To offer another value-added repair solution, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts has developed a range of approximately full-service MEYLE glow plug repair kits designed to fit approximately 2,000 vehicle applications. These kits contain the control unit along with three to six glow plugs, depending on the vehicle model.

Glow plugs are wear-and-tear parts and should be replaced every 80,000 to 120,000 kilometres. MEYLE glow plugs are engineered to perform even at sub-zero temperatures as they start glowing at the tip, then voltage is reduced, allowing the engine to start faster while reducing the stain on the  battery and the environment.
