Chevron has announced a new brand ambassador for its Havoline lubricants brand to support the launch of a new European range. He may look a little familiar as he is racing driver Freddie Hunt, son of 1976 Formula 1 world champion James Hunt.

The announcement renews the relationship with the Hunt family that began 40 years ago. Texaco, now part of the Chevron Corporation, was a key sponsor of title-winning McLaren driven by James. With 2016 the anniversary of James Hunt’s championship, Freddie’s first duty as ambassador was to welcome the lucky winners of a recent Havoline promotion to Silverstone.

Commenting on Freddie’s new role, James Welchman, Marketing Manager at EMEA, Chevron Lubricants said,  “We’re proud to be working with Freddie, renewing the historic relationship between the company and his father. Heritage is important to our brand, but so is using the latest oil technology. Our new products coming to market this year perfectly demonstrate this.”
