A ProTip from Blue Print:

Problem
While changing the engine oil filter during the service replacement process, the oil filter housing cap can break - leaving the oil filter alignment tube and element within the housing.

Cause
After many hours of operation and continuous exposure to the engine oil heat cycles and vibration, the original oil filter housing cap alignment tube material becomes brittle and snaps.

Solution
Remove the oil filter element, and the remains of the oil filter housing cap alignment tube, from the housing. Check for any broken fragments and remove them, along with any excess oil. Replace the oil filter housing cap with Blue Print part ADBP990016 (which is supplied complete with all ‘’O’’ ring seals), along with oil filter element ADU172101. Lubricate the seals with the engine oil and tighten the housing cap to the recommended torque of 25Nm.
