Blue Print has extended its offering of Hydraulic Filters to cover a new range, Haldex couplings, generations I to IV.

There are 6 Hydraulic Filters for Haldex couplings added to the range, covering over 650 applications. The introduction of these filters allows garages to offer a crucial maintenance and service item. In order to provide a complete solution, Blue Print also provide an Oil Filter Removal Tool with more than 115 applications.

A Haldex coupling is an electro-hydraulic system commonly fitted to brands including VAG, Ford and Volvo. It is attached to the rear differential and allows the vehicle to switch between front and all-wheel drive, depending on the demands of the road. The vehicle uses sensors to detect wheel slip and then engages clutch plates within the Haldex coupling which, in turn, engages the rear differential to provide the AWD element of the vehicle.

However, this creates a high degree of friction between metallic components within the system, degrading them over time. Haldex service intervals can be overlooked, resulting in costly repairs to the coupling system. Replacing the filtration element of this system at the recommended service intervals helps to maintain the longevity of the Haldex coupling.
