3M is taking abrasive technology to a new level with its latest Cubitron II range which it says cuts significantly faster and lasts much longer than conventional abrasives.

3M says it Cubitron II Discs, Wheels, Belts and Sheets are a revolutionary advancement in automotive technology for bodywork technicians. The secret to their outstanding improvement in abrasive performance is 3M patented precision shaped ceramic grain technology that can deliver the impressive speed and durability.

The precision shaped grain in 3M Cubitron II products continuously fracture to form sharp points and edges. This means they slice cleaner and faster, stay cooler and lasting longer than conventional ceramic grain abrasives which are irregular in shape. This irregular shape grain means that Instead of a clean, machining action, conventional, dull edge, ceramic grain abrasives "plow” through metal, causing heat build-up, cutting slower and for a shorter time.

The latest in the range of Cubitron II abrasives are 3M 737U Hookit Cubitron II Multihole Abrasive Sheets. This product was designed with the customer in mind, with a number of key benefits to improve technician productivity and reduce fatigue.

The chevron mulithole extraction combines with the 3M range of hand blocks to offer the very best solution for maximum dust extraction and efficient filler sanding. Direct air flow from the panel to the extraction system is achieved by the alignment of the new chevron pattern with oval slots on the accessories.

To help minimise stock holding, the 396mm long sheet has been designed with underscore technology which allows it to be snapped in half to use on the popular 198mm hand block.

Meanwhile the 3M range of hand blocks have been ergonomically designed to offer the most comfortable lightweight solution for every sanding application.

The new sheets are flexible and can be folded to conform to body contours whilst still delivering a uniform, effective cut.
