Technical information specialist, Solera Autodata, has published its 6th Most Serviced Vehicle report, analysing trends from the aftermarket industry and identifying the top 10 most-serviced vehicles across a number of categories. The report covers 21 countries for cars and vans, and 22 for motorcycles.

Internationally, the Opel Corsa-D retains its top spot as most serviced car for a second year, with the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus taking the second and third slots respectively. In individual country rankings, Volkswagen continues to be a strong presence in the aftermarket, as the most serviced manufacturer for 13 of 21 surveyed countries.

The 2004-2015 Volkswagen Transporter T5 kept its slot as most serviced LCV internationally for the fourth year in a row, as well as taking first place for LCVs in more than half of countries surveyed.

Figures for Ireland show the most serviced vehicle was the Ford Focus (‘04/’08) followed by the Volkswagen Golf V (1K1) (03-08) and Opel Insignia-A (G09) (08-17). The Ford Transit (‘06) topped the LCV list followed by the Volkswagen Transporter T5 (7H/7J/7E/7F) (04-15).

In terms of engine types the Volkswagen Golf V (1K1) (03-08) was the most serviced petrol model, while the Opel Insignia-A (G09) (08-17) topped the diesel chart followed by the Audi A4 (8K2/8K5) (07-15). Surprisingly the Lexus IS (13-) was the top of the hybrid list with the Toyota Prius (09-17) runner up.

This year saw technicians globally access a record 129 million pages of information in the Autodata workshop application with the top three most accessed topics being the 2020 Camshaft Drive information, technical specifications, and service schedules.

Service schedules and summaries, and technical specifications have seen an almost identical usage pattern over the course of the year due to COVID-19. A dramatic fall-off can be seen from February to April, with a subsequent rebound through Q3 and current all-time highs for demand for service data. In contrast, 2019 saw mostly steady usage of these modules.
