NGK-sponsored Wolverhampton Wolves got off to a flying start in the British Premier Speedway League with an impressive 58-32 victory at King’s Lynn.

American ace Broc Nicol made a dream debut for the Midlands side with 13-points but this was all about a solid all-round performance by the team which secured them four winning points.

Team boss Peter Adams was pleased with Wolves’ performance which came after their first scheduled match against Belle Vue was called off because of bad weather. He said: “It was an unexpected result that, the boys were brilliant from start to finish and kept their foot on the peddle from start to finish so naturally I’m very pleased.”

Ignition and sensor specialist NGK Spark Plugs is once again sponsoring the team as well as Wolves riders Rory Schlein and Luke Becker, who scored seven and nine points respectively.

The sponsorship deal sees NGK’s logo featured on all the team riders’ race suits, around the track and in each home meeting programme. In addition, all the riders have been given NGK paddock mats and chairs.
