2023 promises to be a very exciting year for young racing driver Alex Denning, as he embarks on a season racing an Aston Martin in the GT4 European Series, while also being selected as an Aston Martin Academy driver.

Alex, who has already enjoyed success in the Fiesta ST Championship and Mini JCW Championship Rookie Cup, in the UK, was named 2022 Irish young driver of the year, winning the prestigious Sexton Trophy.

For 2023 he is taking a big step into European competition racing in the GT4 European Series with Newbridge Motorsport. The series is a multi-manufacturer championship with 52 competitors and also features McLaren, Porsche, Audi, Toyota, Ford, Chevorlet, Mercedes and BMW. It is Newbridge’s first year in the GT4 European Series, with the team attending 6 race weekends, with 2 hour long races at each, with each driver taking a 30 minute stint. Alex will be alongside teammate Matt Topham. The races take place at iconic venues such as; Monza, Paul Ricard, Spa, Misano, Hockenheim and Barcelona.

The series supports the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS, which attracts huge crowds and features many big names including Valentino Rossi.

Commenting on the exciting developments in his career, Alex said, “I am over the moon to be signed by Aston Martin Racing into their Drivers Academy for 2023 after a very successful debut outing in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in Jerez in February. The plan is to be at the front of all the Astons and hopefully even the overall grid. I recognise that it is a first for myself in the car and a first for all of the team to be competing out in the European championship but we are confident in our abilities to adapt quickly”

Alex added, “It is a true honour to be representing an organisation with such heritage and success in the motoring world. To incorporate my wonderful network of corporate partners in this amazing journey is simply a dream come true. A special thanks to all my partners for their continued hard work and support into 2023. Without them, none of this would have been possible, Now let’s make Ireland proud, and get the Irish flag on the podium in Europe”.
