It’s yet another first for ACTS in Association with Diagnostics Solutions and IMI Awards. The Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) Diagnostic Technician has been achieved for the very first time in Ireland by John Nolan of Dublin Automotive Services Ltd, Kilbarrack Ind Est Dublin 5 and Phil McKeown of Atlas Tyre and Auto Service, Grange Road, Baldoyle, Dublin 13.
This will include them on the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) professional register and is publicly available on the IMI website.
Each ATA accreditation is made up of a combination of knowledge and practical assessments. An individual, who holds an ATA accreditation, has proven themselves to be competent in their discipline and upstanding to an ethical Code of Conduct.
An ATA accreditation is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of successful completion of the assessments.
The ATA scheme has been developed to offer modular assessments, ATA Update Modules, for specific Proof of Competence, e.g. Proof of Welding, and for maintaining accredited status.
The IMI launched the public facing Professional Register in April 2013. The Professional Register will be a place for motorists to find capable and credible individuals who are committed to providing the highest standard of service and conduct.
The Professional Register is an industry-wide register made-up of individuals working in the automotive industry that have demonstrated, and continue to improve their skills, knowledge and experience. All current ATA accredited individuals will automatically be placed onto the IMI Professional Register.
