Schaeffler has spearheaded a project to modernise Louise Baker’s workshop. Louise is a star of scoal media circles where she is known as the ‘Womanic’.
Schaeffler is coordinating a project to provide Louise ‘The Womanic’ Baker with a garage makeover. Once completed, she will continue to carry out repairs and servicing, but will also be able to blog, vlog and post her popular everyday tales of life as a female mechanic from a shiny new workshop.
Other supporters of the project include Ring, OSRAM, Shell, LKQ ECP and PAGID, who have all contributed towards the makeover to ensure that Louise has a workshop which matches her drive and enthusiasm for the aftermarket industry.
The makeover is being delivered by GDS Engineering, a company famous for creating pit workshops and hospitality areas in the motorsport industry for the likes of Haas and Williams and will include fittings and fixtures from Dura.
The Womanic project is also a way of promoting Schaeffler’s REPXPERT Millionaire Makeover promotion - a brand new competition where one lucky garage will be able to totally transform their workshop and reception area. The makeover will again be installed by GDS, with the a total prize value of around £20,000!
The competition is open to Irish garages who can enter at:
https://www.repxpert.co.uk/en-gb/garage_makeover with the winners being announced in May 2026.
When completed, Louise’s workshop will show what a Millionaire Makeover could look like and why garages should sign up to win the prize.
Marketing Manager, Jeff Earl, commented: “As one of the Auto Angels, Louise is a familiar and inspirational aftermarket figure and after she supported the REPXPERT conference and Wrenches and Wisdom campaign, we felt it only right that we supported her by helping to deliver an exciting upgrade for her workshop.”
Jeff added, “As our Millionaire Makeover promotion gathers pace, we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to showcase what a makeover can do for a garage and we’re really pleased that some other fantastic brands also wanted to come on board to help Louise, so a big thank you goes out to our friends at Ring, OSRAM, LKQ ECP, Shell and TMD Friction for their support.”
Lou’s garage is currently going through its transformation, with the before and after results revealed in a ‘grand opening’ early in July.
