Starters and alternators is something of a growth sector in the aftermarket at present and a major global player in this area, the Unipoint Group, was at Automechanika with its latest range.

Unipoint Group was established in 1972 and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of starters and alternators, temperature control units and wiper blades. Now a Bosch Group Company it manufacturers products to SO 9001 / TS16949 international quality standards and sells to customers all over the world. Unlike many companies in this sector, Unipoint does not remanufacture, preferring to concentrate on new manufacturing of rotating electric units.

Unipoint products are distributed in Ireland by Electro Maintenance. Director David Sanfey says, "Unipoint starters and alternators are all newly manufactured for added reliability and this also reduces core handling cost. We are delighted with the quality of the units which all undergo rigorous testing and inspection and always meet or exceed OE manufacturer standards.”

David also points out that Unipoint’s market coverage continues to expand with Electro Maintenance now stocking some 300 part numbers in the range.
