After just four months of the year, Toyota is back on top as the number one car maker in the world.

Latest figures supplied by the manufacturers show that the Japanese giant is once again the top-selling brand in the world with 10.8% market share and sales of 3,526,343 vehicles year-to-date. That’s an increase of 7.8% on the same period last year.

Volkswagen has slipped from the top spot to third place on the table with the Renault-Nissan Alliance just behind Toyota in second place on 10.42% (3,471,808),

While the margin between the top two is small, the gap back to Volkswagen is wider with the German manufacturer delivering 3,336,200, down to 10.01% of the total market.
