The replacement of High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon bulbs is growing. Gas discharge bulbs have been in use since 1991. Initially reserved only for the luxury car market, they now appear as standard and options in an increasing number of mid-sized cars.
Safety should always come first!
The electronically controlled gas discharge produces a very bright lights ac and requires high voltage for ignition. High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs should only be removed and replaced by trained technicians.
