Tipperary hurling Captain, Brendan Maher, has been appointed Peugeot Brand Ambassador and presented with a new Peugeot 308 by Tipperary North Main Peugeot Dealers, Slattery’s Puckane.

The 26-year old County midfielder first excelled at hurling whilst at school in St Joseph’s College, Borrisoleigh. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team, before later lining out for the under-21 side. He joined the senior team for the 2009 National Hurling League and has since then gathered 3 Munster titles, 2 All-Star awards and 1 All-Ireland medal to his name, claiming captainship in 2013. Outside the sporting arena, Brendan is currently a teacher at the autistic unit in Loughmore Primary School.

Michael Slattery, Dealer Principal at Slattery’s Garage Puckane, said, “We’ve been looking for a local Peugeot Brand Ambassador for some time and I couldn’t think of a more perfect partnership. Indeed, one award-winner has just met another; the Peugeot 308 was voted European Car of the Year just shortly after its launch and landed the Continental Irish Compact Car of the Year 2015 accolade in November. We’re delighted with the appointment and we wish Brendan every success for 2015, especially ahead of this week’s crucial Munster final against Waterford.”

On delivery, Brendan said, “The Peugeot 308 drives like an absolute dream and it looks fantastic. It’s just so economical and packed with standard equipment. My thanks to Slattery’s Garage for my new car.”

Available today to test drive at Slattery’s Garage, the Peugeot 308 retails from €19,6515 plus delivery related charges or from €202 per month with 3.9% APR PCP Peugeot Passport finance. The Peugeot 308 Allure model that Brendan has been presented with is packed with equipment as standard: 6 airbags, spare wheel, 17” alloy wheels, front fogs, Bluetooth, 9.7” colour touch screen, front and rear electric windows, cruise control + speed limiter, full LED headlights, hill assist, satellite navigation, front parking sensors, reverse parking camera, auto headlights and wipers and sports style front seats.
