UK tyre retailer Blackcircles.com, has published a bizarre list of items that some of its one thousand garage agents have found to be the cause of punctures. It seems fitters have found a very unlikely list of object embedded in flat tyres including stiletto heels, hedgehog spikes, pens, false finger nails and chopsticks. One garage even reported a puncture caused by an engagement ring.

Blackcircles says that the odd-ball list does have a serious side, in that it highlights how even innocuous objects can cause damage to tyres which are badly worn.
