Technicians give positive response to new Eure!Car training concept

The Eure!Car Certified Master Class training concept was on the road last week with the team visiting motor factors across Ireland to hold special introductory sessions. At these sessions garage owners and technicians were introduced to the innovative new training programme and got to see close up one of the specially adapted Eure!Car vehicles which can simulate technical problems.

The new training initiative is being introduced by Irish distributor J&S Automotive and the Europe wide Grup Eina International organisation and a team made up of staff from both companies packed in visits to 14 factors in all corners of Ireland last week.

The Eure!Car concept is designed to provide practical hands-on training for garage owners and technicians on a local basis. The key focus of the training are the cars themselves, which can simulate common technical issues encountered in workshops. This allows those attending the training sessions to gain a practical understanding of how to diagnose, trace and resolve issues on common vehicles.

Every session was well attended, with technicians and factors extremely positive about the new training ideas. Greg Connolly of Ballina Motor Factors hosted one of the best attended introductory training sessions and was very pleased with the response. He commented, “I think it is high time that the independent aftermarket put more emphasis on training and I am very pleased that J&S have taken the initiative with the Eure!Car concept. The mechanics who attended the session in Ballina liked the accessibility and practicality of how the training will be delivered, using actual cars at local venues with trainers that they can easily relate to.”

Greg says he believes that all progressive garages need to look closely at training now and be prepared to invest time and resources. “It is too easy for busy garages to underestimate the value of good technical training. With automotive technology moving so fast without proper training the independent sector will find it difficult to work on the latest vehicles and run the risk of driving business back to main dealers.”

Eamonn Laverty was one of the many garage operators that attended one of the training sessions in Dundalk and he was also very positive about the Eure!Car idea. He commented, “I really think this type of training is badly needed for independent garages. I like the fact that it is based around actual cars and not in a classroom and that it is delivered by very knowledgeable technicians.” He added, “I am very conscious of the fact that it is increasingly important to find the time for technical training and to see training as a vital investment for the future.”
Hundreds of other mechanics were also very impressed with the training and have signed up for locally based ongoing training which will start in the autumn. Those attending were particularly impressed with the training materials, which includes work books with full wiring diagrams and the fact that those taking up the training also have access to a technical support telephone service.

The Eure!Car training initiative will be further showcased at special presentations in Dublin, Cork Limerick and Galway in September, where attendees will be able to see the adapted cars, view elements of the training modules and speak to the expert trainers.

For more information and to book a place at one of the showcases call Mark Ralph at J&S Automotive on 087-263-0962.
