Long-serving NGK Spark Plugs Sales Representative Steve Padbury is retiring after more than thirty years with the leading ignition and sensor specialist.

Steve,  known as ‘Padders’ by many colleagues and friends in the industry, will leave the company in April after 31 years in what he describes as “the best job in the industry.”

The 66-year-old was due to retire last May but extended his stay to help the leading supplier of original equipment spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors, deal with the ramifications of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said, “A number of my customers have become very close friends over the years and I will really miss them and also everyone I work with. I have worked alongside some fantastic people at NGK and for some great bosses including Jim Hughes, Brian Childs and now Marko Wowczyna.”

NGK Spark Plugs Marketing Manager Mark Hallam said, “The success of NGK over the years has not only been down to the quality of our products but also in no small part due to the hard work and professionalism of people like Steve. We will miss him but I’m sure he will come to see us at various industry events in the future.”
