Ever parked your car in a rush and then forgotten where it was? Don’t worry you are not alone as new research by Skoda has found.
In a survey of 2000 drivers, 52% admitted to being unable to find their car at least once a year, while 25% said they couldn’t find it twice a year and 14% said they 'lost' their car three or more times annually.
Female drivers were more absentminded (or perhaps more honest) than male drivers with 16% saying they had 'lost' their car three or more times in the last 12 months, compared to 10% of male drivers. However, the survey showed women found their cars quicker taking on average 5.6 minutes, compared to 6.4 minutes for men.
Shopping centres were the main problems areas with 58% of respondents saying were unable to find their cars after shopping, compared to 36% in supermarkets, 21% in airports and 12% at outdoor events.
One of the drivers surveyed admitted, "Going round and round in circles at an airport car park looking for my car for at least 30 minutes, getting near to tears when remembering I’d actually got a taxi to the airport in the first place. It had been a long flight!"
Skoda says its owners do not need to worry about losing their cars thanks to the Skoda Connect App, which includes the 'Parking Position' feature which allows drivers to easily locate their car using their phone.
