For most drivers being told that their car is a write-off is the news they do not want to hear. It means that that they have to start the search for a replacement, often only to find that their insurance payout will not secure them anything like the same quality of model. It is hassle, inconvenience and a financial burden that no one wants to face. In some instances it also means parting with a long cherished vehicle that has been a big part of a driver’s life for many years.

However, last year, thanks to the efforts of Toyota Ireland and its dedicated dealer network, almost 100 drivers received some welcome news about their cars in relation to a potential write-off situation. By applying extra discounts to Toyota genuine parts and working in close cooperation with insurance companies and repairers, Toyota was able to tell 96 satisfied customers that their cars could be repaired and put back on the road cost effectively and safely using genuine Toyota parts.

In doing this, not only were Toyota drivers saved the cost and inconvenience of finding a replacement car, but accident repairers across the country benefited from added repair work and there was also an environmental benefit through not having to scrap cars that would previously been classed as total losses.

The Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme has been steadily increasing the number of Toyota cars it saves year on year. With cost of living expenses still very much in the public eye and people now tending to hold on to their cars for longer, even more vehicles will be likely be saved in 2024.

The Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme offers bodyshops an excellent profit opportunity allowing them to repair cars that may otherwise be written off. It is quick and easy to administer with Toyota dealers able to provide prompt answers on if it is possible to save a car.

Toyota Ireland is urging more bodyshops to take advantage of this scheme. If they have produced an estimate on a Toyota which has been classed as uneconomical to repair, all they need to do is contact their local Toyota Dealer Parts Department with the details and the team will do everything they can to find the best solution for all parties involved.

For more information on Toyota accident repair parts and the Write-Off Avoidance Programme, repairers should contact their local Toyota Dealer Parts Department, from the 46 strong nationwide Toyota dealer network.
