Rolls Royce to offer bespoke coachbuild programme

Luxury car maker, Rolls-Royce, has launched a new 'Coachbuild' programme that will allow some customers to commission a car of their own.

Rolls-Royce CEO, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said that clients are increasingly looking for something unique, so the company will use its expertise to bring their ideas to life.

To illustrate the possibilities the car maker has created three individual cars in a style they are calling the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. Each has been custom-built as a convertible four-seater a rear section designed to evoke the deck of a J Class yacht.

The bespoke Boat Tail cars contain some details already found in other Rolls-Royce models such as a refrigerator to hold Champagne bottles cooled to precisely 6C. The Boat Tail has a 6.75-liter V-12 engine currently used in the Phantom, Cullinan, and Ghost, although the company says it would be open to the possibility of alternative engines or fuel if requested.
