Mazda Motors Ireland announced the appointment of Tony Howarth, the company’s new Managing Director. Tony will re-locate to Dublin and begin his position in April 2013.

As Managing Director, Tony will take responsibility for all Mazda activities in the Republic of Ireland. His strategic focus will be on growth of the Mazda brand in Ireland leveraging the strength of Mazda’s 6th generation of products, including the all-new Mazda6.

Tony has broad multi-franchise motor industry experience.  Joining Mazda UK in 2004 as Business Manager, he was subsequently promoted in 2007 to his present role of Regional Business Manager, running the Mazda team in Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Tony’s focus is to improve dealer sales per outlet and focus on profitability through the implementation of performance-driven sales and aftersales programmes. “We have a fantastic opportunity to grow the Mazda brand in Ireland with 6th Generation cars that use revolutionary technology to deliver real world benefits to consumers.  I am excited about joining the experienced and dedicated team at Mazda Ireland and feel confident that the ingredients are in place for profitable growth.”
