The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) is helping garages across Ireland get back to business, following the disruption of the COVID-19 restrictions, with its “Back on Track” packs and on-line support tools. In the latest Autobiz Online video, Verona Ellis talks to Nigel Mepham, Sales Manager for the UK & Ireland, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket, one of the key members of the OESAA, about the success of the initiative and how garages can still get involved.
Nigel talks about how resilient garages have been in adjusting to the new normal and the importance of adopting safe working practices and social distancing protocols, in both the customer reception and workshop areas. He explains how the packs contain practical support tools and information that can provide valuable assistance in this area and also help to build customer confidence that they can visit a garage safely.
He then discusses the importance of fitting quality original equipment parts, so that customers benefit from a right first time repair every time and the garage has no concern about comebacks. He also discusses how good communication with customers is now more important than ever, especially when it comes to promoting appropriate added value services, such as cabin filter changes and air conditioning system cleaning.
OESAA ‘Back on Track’ packs are available from local motor factors across Ireland and online COVID-19 support information, including a free E-Learning support module, can be found at
