Ignition specialist NGK has long been synonymous with motorsport, supplying some of the world’s leading two and four-wheel teams such as the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team, the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team and a number of leading MotoGP and Speedway riders. However, this season for the first time NGK has taken to the track with its very own car.

NGK is participating in the Veranstaltergemeinschaft Nürburgring (VLN) long-distance championship with a Ferrari 458.  The RaciNGK team comprising UK drivers George Richardson and Robert Smith and German Stephan Kuhs, secured second place in the SP8 category for vehicles up to 6200cc at the 40th DMV 4-Hour Race against very strong opponents.

Marko Wowczyna, Automotive Director, NGK Spark Plugs commented, “Motorsports and endurance racing like the VLN in particular put our products to the ultimate test and reinforces our illustrious motorsports pedigree.”

Showing the diversity of its motor sport involvement, later this month triple World Speedway champion Greg Hancock is to be the star guest on NGK Spark Plugs stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which is being held on June 25-28th.  In addition to his appearance on the NGK stand on Friday, June 26, Greg will also be taking part in the famous Goodwood Hill Climb the following day.
