NGK-sponsored Speedway stars are continuing to dominate this year’s World championship.

Australian racer Jason Doyle snatched victory in a final thriller to win the MIB Nordic Gorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland to move into second place in the 2016 championship behind NGK-stablemate Greg Hancock.

After an epic contest with current World champion Tai Woffinden for four laps he got the better of the Briton with a stunning last-bend swoop to win his second SGP of 2016.

Doyle’s victory saw him slash Hancock’s World championship lead from 12 points to seven to go into second spot on 87 points, a point ahead of Woffinden, who has 86.

Jason commented, "We never expected to be second in the World championship. We’re pushing hard and now a bit of confidence is coming, that’s a massive part."

Doyle’s success is even more remarkable given that he didn’t practice after opting to rest following a heavy run of league meetings and raced with a back injury he sustained in Sweden a few weeks ago.

Three-time champion Hancock reached the semi-finals in Poland scoring 11 points to retain top-spot in the championship race with 94 points while Chris Harris, who is also sponsored by NGK, scored four points.

NGK Spark Plugs has a long and successful partnership with Speedway and not only sponsors the three GP riders, but also Coventry Bees Speedway team.
