OESAA (The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association) found a novel way to promote its original equipment parts message, at the recent Mechanex Show in Sandown Park.

Visitors at the stand were given a box of mints with a memory refresher card that highlighted the benefits of fitting OE parts. Of course mints are often handed out at trade show stands, but this is the first time that Tic Tac has ever agreed to let an organisation brand their own original mints.

The message on the refresher card read, "We assumed that you preferred the original and the best...We believe your customer would too.” Overleaf the card gave five reasons for choosing OE parts, firstly emphasising there is only one true OE quality that fully meets the exacting standards of the vehicle manufacturers. The point was also made that the parts, because they are original, fit first time, every time and that components from OESAA suppliers have been manufactured and engineered without compromise for specific applications and not adapted to fit different models. These factors mean they perform identically to the original components, unlike some rationalised parts that can deliver an inferior driving experience.

The promotion also highlighted the absolute quality and peace of mind of OE parts, offering the ultimate in safety and reliability and the positive effect that this can have on a garage’s reputation.

OESAA is an association that brings together many world leading OE parts manufacturers to promote genuine OE quality. On the stand, visitors could also see first-hand comparisons of original parts against some aftermarket parts that claim to be of matching quality.
