Mechanic Association takes next step in development
Share:

The Mechanic Association of Ireland (MAI) has taken a major step forward in the development of the organisation by making key appointments to put it on a firm footing so that it can best represent the interest of its members.

The MAI aims represent mechanics working in the motor industry, especially in areas such as training and qualification, and working conditions and pay. It also wants to raise the profile of the trade and improve its public image in-line with the significant technological changes taking place in this fast moving sector.

The Association has been very active as an online forum for more than a year, especially on Facebook where it now has a following of well over 3000.

To formalise the association and put in place a structure for future development, a committee of volunteers met recently. At the meeting key appointments were made and responsibilities assigned for the initial stages of development.  This included the appointment of the formal positions of the association as well as Education and Recruitment Officers. This group will meet again shortly to agree on organisational objectives and put a development programme in place, with a view to holding regional meetings for mechanics in the coming months.

The MAI is open to all mechanics and apprentices. Anyone who would like further information, or to join the association can email mechanicsassociationireland@gmail.com or can make contact through the Mechanics Association of Ireland Facebook group.
