Independent garages so often play a key role in the local community, especially in more rural areas, providing support and assistance that in many cases goes far beyond vehicle maintenance and serving. A prime example of this is Mannings Garage in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.

Owner Anthony Manning has been involved in many charity and community initiatives and the garage provided vital essential services to key workers during Covid times. Recently Anthony has also had a defibrillator installed on the premises, available to anyone who needs it 24-7.

Anthony said, “To say a big thank you to all our customers and to give something back to our local community we recently installed a defibrillator on our premises. The team at Mannings Garage has also completed a course on basic first aid and defibrillator use.”

This defibrillator is fully serviced and checked on a regular basis to make sure it is always in life saving working order. It is located at the front door of the garage (EIRCODE V35W650) in an unlocked heated storage cabinet. The defibrillator is available at all times to those who may need it.
