Manbat, battery distributor of the Numax and Lucas brands, has added a new EFB battery to its premium VARTA range. The VARTA Promotive EFB, a CV battery, which Manbat says, offers a higher level of performance, over an extended lifecycle.

VARTA is renowned for its vibration resistant batteries, but the Promotive EFB’s end-of-frame cell installation process takes this to a new level. In addition, its innovative acid circulator effectively prevents acid stratification. A hot melt process renders the battery even more vibration resistant, because it saves the connectors from breaking, while additional connector fixings hold the connectors and plates securely in place.

The EFB also features Scrim, an additional polyester element that is located between the plate and separator. The scrim holds the active material in place inside the plate and avoids the erosion of mass, which results in enhanced deep cycle resistance and superior charge acceptance.

Battery acid circulation is also improved by adding a specially constructed element that uses the natural movement of the vehicle as it is driven, to keep the acid inside the battery in constant circulation, which allows the acid density to remain homogenous and enhances the charge acceptance and extends the overall life of the battery.

Commenting on the introduction, Manbat Marketing Manager, Myles Pemberton said: "The Promotive range now provides the solution for each and every CV requirement, from a standard application suitable for the Promotive Black, to the most demanding load-heavy pan European express application, where this new Promotive EFB will provide the ideal solution and deliver the investment returns large fleet operators require.”
