M1 Motors gets in the fast lane

In these days when all we ever seem to hear in the media is of business closures, it is refreshing to hear news of a new business start-up in the motor trade. M1 Motors based at Balrothery, just outside Balbriggan, north County Dublin, opened at the start of April. The new business is a service and repair centre, as well as offering accident repair services, valeting and pre NCT inspections.

Larry Halpin and Sean Gibbons, both of whom have a wealth of experience in the motor trade, established the company. Larry and Sean most recently worked for BK Motors until it closed at the end of last year. When their former employer shut down it did not take Larry and Sean long to decide to take over the premises that had been operated by the BK Motors Aftersales Department and set up the new company. Moving into the premises meant that the new M1 Motors workshop were already well kitted out with repair and diagnostic equipment, with new equipment added as required. This means the operation is now geared up to handle service and repair on all makes and models, but retains a particular expertise in the Skoda and Hyuandi marques.

Larry has found that local response to the new venture has been extremely positive and the company already has a healthy booking list. He says, “Customers in the area have been very pleased to see the business set-up and many are already making use of the services we have on offer.” He added, “This area has an expanding population and we feel there is a definite need for the type of quality motoring service we can provide.”
