The Japanparts Group has introduced a new range of CV joints. The company says this includes more than 800 CV joints available for Asian, European and American vehicles, including many parts which are usually difficult to find in the aftermarket.
The new range offers some 93% car parc coverage and products come 24 months warranty under the Japanparts, Ashika and Japko brands. All CV joints are designed to strictly follow original drawings and developed with long lasting and high quality materials in order to guarantee high reliability and easy fitting in line with the OE equivalent.
Constant-velocity joints, also known as homokinetic joints, allow a drive shaft to transmit torque through a variable angle, at constant rotational speed, without an appreciable increase in friction or play. They are mainly used in front wheel drive vehicles, and many modern rear wheel drive cars with independent rear suspension typically use homokinetic joints at the ends of the rear axle half-shafts and increasingly use them on the drive shafts.
CV joints are usually protected by a rubber boot, filled with molybdenum disulphide grease. If this rubber boot cracks or gets damaged, grease leaks and lets the joint turn unlubricated. In addition external contaminating agents can corrode joints components. This causes a quick wear of the joint and means a shorter service life.
