David Mullane, Service Manager, Monaghan & Sons Galway has been awarded the prestigious title of national ŠKODA Service Advisor Champion as part of the ŠKODA service challenge 2014.


David will now go on to compete in an international competition representing Ireland in the Service category and will compete for the title of Individual World Champion.

Now in its fifth year, the ŠKODA service challenge has become an important benchmark for measuring the qualities of the best employees in the global ŠKODA service network and includes three different categories; Parts & Accessory Manager, Service Advisor and Service Technician. The Service Challenge is the largest comparative event for employees in the ŠKODA service network and consists of several rounds and focuses on theoretical as well as practical knowledge.

With over 18 years’ industry experience, David has managed the complete service centre at Monaghan & Sons, Galway for over two years having originally set up his own auto-repair centre.

Commenting on the awards David Rave, Head of Aftersales ŠKODA Ireland said: “We are delighted to announce David as the category winner for the Service Advisor Category in the ŠKODA service challenge for 2014. David is a very worthy winner and has demonstrated a lot of commitment and knowledge over the past year. David will now represent Ireland in the Spring in the international competition taking place in ŠKODA HQ in the Czech Republic and we wish him all the best”.

Also commenting, Leo Monaghan, Dealer Principal, Monaghan & Sons, Galway said “David is a valued member of the Monaghan & Sons team and we are very proud that a representative from our dealership has claimed the national title. We wish him all the best in the international event and I know he will do our dealership proud”.
