February date announced for popular one day garage finance course

Independent garages looking to get a better grip on their finances will have the opportunity to attend a special finance course aimed specifically at garage businesses in Dublin in February. The one day course, “Financial Understanding for the Garage Business” will be delivered by Andy Savva the highly respected automotive trainer and garage consultant.


Andy established and developed highly successful independent garages in the UK and now operates a new business venture called the Garage Inspector. This allows him to put his extensive knowledge and experience of running a garage business to work, advising on how to make a garage operation more efficient, more profitable and put it on a sound financial footing.

The “Financial Understanding for the Garage Business” course has already been run to great acclaim several times in the UK. Andy says the course explains in clear terms the fundamentals of finance for a garage business and shows how the owner get a better understanding of this critical area. In particular its will: 
  • Explain the impact of organisational finances and how to interpret key financial facts
  • Look at the key issues that affect garage finances and show how to understand financial terms with confidence.
  • Demonstrate how to interpret key financial statements such as, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
  • Give an insight into Key Performance Indicators and show how this information can be used to make improvements.
  • Provide an understanding of why the correct labour rate is critical to a garage and explain how this needs to be translated into achieving the best recovery rate.
Andy says that the course will often transform the way a garage owner looks at finance and can lead to dramatic improvements in profitability. Some previous attendees have commented:

The one day course takes place on Thursday 28th February 2019 at the Grup Eina, Training Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin. Course registration is at 8.30am, the course begins promptly at 9am and will aim to finish by 5.15pm. Lunch and refreshments are included in the course fee, which also includes a comprehensive workbook that that can act as an invaluable reference once the course is completed.
