Some 95% of drivers of electric vehicles would never go back to petrol or diesel powered vehicles according to a new survey.

The survey was carried out by Fully Charged, a clean energy and electric vehicle channel on YouTube hosted by TV star Robert Llewellyn. It received a strong 7,700 response to its survey of consumer attitudes to various developing technologies. Robert Llewellyn commented, “Having experienced how impressive electric cars are, we were not surprised to see so many other drivers saying that they won't go back to the combustion engine, but it might shock those that have yet to switch.”

The survey also found that 58% of the Fully Charged audience that do not yet own an electric vehicle intend to acquire one by the end of 2020, with three quarters planning to purchase a pure battery EV as opposed to a plug-in hybrid.

Meanwhile it seems that when it comes to electric vehicles, traditional brand loyalty counts for little with some 88% of potential buyers saying they would strongly look at other makes to what they presently drive.
