The Drogheda Motor Show, Brand New Drive 142 will run in association with The Irish Maritime Festival on the weekend of 13th – 15th June.

With the backdrop of a bygone era with its beautiful sailing vehicles, over 50 new cars from 9 different brands will park up along the quay of the River Boyne at the entrance to the festival.

The theme of the event is 'Keys on the Quay' and the showcase will enable a car buyer to look at, sit in, smell and experience the features of a variety of different new 142 reg cars in the size that interests them.

“When we looked back at the success of the event over the last number of years, we realised that the show really was of benefit to everyone. Certainly for us as car dealers but also for car buyers who could browse, get advice and buy with no fuss. Together we brought to life our common idea of helping ourselves and each other.” Said Frans van der Werff of Boyne Cars (Nissan and Opel Dealer).

“It was a natural connection to associate with the vehicles of the sea. Both old and new modes of transport will sit alongside the River Boyne. It's not everyday that happens where visitors can appreciate the beauty of both.” Frans continued.

The only award-winning motor show (www.droghedamotorshow.ie) in Ireland, it offers buyers the chance to get expert advice on car features, ideal family cars, travel, energy consumption and much more. It is the ideal place to visit if you're thinking about or considering buying a new car.

The premium sponsor of the Show is First Citizen Finance, a wholly owned Irish company that launched in the Irish Market in February 2014 and offers a suite of products for Consumers and Non-Consumers including Hire Purchase and Leasing. It offers flexible finance solutions that are available across new and used vehicles.

This is the first year that First Citizen has sponsored the event but it's not a stranger to it's organisation as Robert Murray, First Citizen Finance local area manager, has long been involved in the background helping with the success of the show.

“An event like this is not just about displaying cars. It's more than that. It shows passion, respect and togetherness that the car dealers of Drogheda have for one another and their buyers. Being located at a festival that celebrates sailing vehicles is a real honour.” said another local motor dealer Alan Reynolds of Brian Reynolds Mazda “We invite the people of Drogheda and surrounding areas to come down, have a chat with the dealers, find out all they can and to buy local.”

“We are delighted to have the Drogheda Motor Show at The Irish Maritime Festival. Together with the artisan food suppliers, it's fantastic to see so many Drogheda businesses working together to support the festival aswell as the town. Visitors now have lots more reasons to come on down to the Quays.” concluded Joan Martin, acting County Manager.

The Drogheda Motor Show is free to attend and the Dealers would like to thank the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) and local Drogheda Chamber of Commerce for their ongoing support of the show.
