DRI focus on sustainability with popular product range updates

Europe's largest independent automotive parts remanufacturer, BORG Automotive, manufacturer of the DRI brand distributed in Ireland by Serfac Limited, continues to focus on sustainability with the latest popular additions to its extensive product range.

Remanufacturing is an important element within the circular economy, and BORG Automotive showcases the environmental benefits of using its remanufactured car parts over new ones by carrying out life cycle assessments which document and verify the difference between using remanufactured parts over new ones.

Fitting a DRI remanufactured part is better for the environment compared to installing a newly produced spare part, since the material consumption of remanufactured car parts is much lower.  For example, using a remanufactured starter or turbocharger has been found to save 96% of raw materials on average compared to using a newly manufactured part.  In this way, BORG Automotive's circular business model contributes to a more responsible use of resources while CO2 emissions are also reduced by 40% and energy consumption by around 38%.

Popular DRI components now available from Serfac include:

327229122: Starter for Nissan NV300 and Renault Trafic 1.6dCi 2014 – vans; 326091112: Starter for popular Hyundai models including i40, i30, Tucson and KIA models including Stonic, Sportage, Cee’d, Carens 1.6 & 1.7CRDi 2015 -

717730190: EGR valve to fit popular Opel models including Astra J, K, Insignia A, B and Mokka equipped with 1.6CDTI engines 2014 -

4154820 & 4254820: Rear left and right brake callipers to fit Ford Galaxy, Kuga, Mondeo and S-Max 2014 -

729114410: TURBO CHARGER to fit a variety of models across a range of different vehicle brands including Kia, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Opel and Renault with 1.6dCi engines.

“Serfac continues to place a greater focus on sustainability and we’re noticing increased demand in the market for remanufactured automotive parts, said Gillian Fanning of Serfac Limited.  “BORG Automotive has promoted sustainability for many years and works hard to minimize the negative environmental impact of production.  We’re delighted to offer a range of “greener” popular DRI products to our customers, many of which have less of an environmental impact than using newly produced spare parts.”

DRI components are distributed by Seffac and are available from motor factors nationwide.
