DENSO Aftermarket Sales has created a new programme design to inspire a new generation of vehicle technicians.
Working with distributor Motor Parts Direct, Denso recently held two special technical training sessions at South Devon College for students on its Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course.
Martin Pring, Manager at DENSO Aftermarket Sales commented, “The future of our industry is in the hands of those just setting out on their careers within the automotive market. It is vital that we arm them with the most relevant and interesting information that we can, to ensure that they remain invested. The technical presentation to South Devon College was the perfect way to do this.”
Topics addressed within the presentation included aspects relating to DENSO’s “Vision 2020”, its business philosophy aiming to ‘protect life, preserve the planet, and prepare a bright future for future generations’. Top of the agenda was a closer look at Vehicle Emissions controls and Engine Management Systems, and the vital role they have to play in delivering a more environmental efficient engine. Lambda Sensors, Spark Plugs and Common Rail Diesel Injectors and Pumps were also studied in great detail, supported with some hands-on technical demonstrations.
The event proved to be a great success and DENSO is already looking to run other programmes in the UK and Ireland in 2014.
