A survey commissioned by Glass's in the UK, has found that electric and
hybrid vehicles, are now seen as serious buying options by more than half of motorists.
53% of respondents, said they would consider buying a plug-in hybrid or battery electric car as their next vehicle purchase, compared to only 9% last year.
This sharp rise in interest is thought to be partly due to new Government incentives to purchase these types of vehicles. "This is a phenomenal increase in a very short space of time and represents a fast-growing acceptance of the emergence of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles into the mass market", said Andy Carroll, the managing director at Glass's.
