Ireland will win against both Croatia and Italy; and Richard Dunne will be the Irish player of the tournament: those are two of the key findings from a survey carried out by Continental Tyres, Official Sponsor of UEFA EURO 2012, and You Boys in Green website (ybig.ie).

The survey of some 355 ybig.ie subscribers, committed and knowledgeable fans all, suggests that our winning performances against the Croatians and Italians will see scorelines of 2-1 and 1-0 respectively.  Under that scenario, Ireland could be heading for the quarter finals.

In terms of the overall star of the tournament, Robin van Persie of Holland is expected to take that title with 18 percent of the votes cast; just pipping Sebastian Schweinsteiger of Germany on 17 percent. According to the survey, the final is most likely to feature Germany and Spain with Germany taking the title.

For those not traveling to Poland, the most popular way to catch the games seems to be with mates in the pub (55 percent); followed by a get-together with a group of mates and watching the games in a home environment (33 percent).
