Last minute Christmas shoppers need not fret as motoring solutions specialist, easytrip, can reveal that the best times, with the most capacity at car parks in the run up to Christmas week, are before 11am and after 3pm.
Saturdays have the least capacity, with December 19 and 20 anticipated as the busiest days for shoppers.
Christmas shopping tips for last minute shoppers from easytrip include:
1. Identifying the locations of all retail outlets to visit in advance to save time.
2. Plot your shopping route by retail location and distance to car park. Make sure the last shops visited are the closest to the car park to reduce your walking distance - this will be of particular benefit if laden down with heavy goods/large items that have been purchased.
3. If you have a lot of shopping to do make time for a break to stay hydrated and keep energy levels up!
4. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes.
Easytrip offers electronic car parking through the use of their tag in 24 car parks nationwide. The easytrip tag is scanned on entry and exit to the car park, with no need to take a ticket or queue at the paying station, and the fee is then automatically deducted from the tag holder's account.
"For last minute shoppers the added stress of not finding a parking space on top of a long shopping list yet to be tackled can cause some drivers to panic." says Colin Delaney, general manager at easytrip. "We'd advice motorists to plan ahead, get to the car park as soon as it opens or wait until after the lunchtime rush and head there after 3pm. Having the benefit of an easytrip parking tag will also mean that you can head straight to your car when you're finished shopping with no need to queue at the ticket machine."
