The big buzz around the Car-O-Liner stand at Automechanika concerned it new generation CTR7 Resistance Spot Welder.

Stuart Alexander explained than the CTR7 is a radical new generation welding machine that provides quality spot welds on all the new high-strength steels using cutting edge inverter technology. With its advanced design and touch screen the welder looks very different and it offers a number of unique benefits for ease of operation and reduced cycle times.

Stuart said, "The easy-to-read, 7” colour screen makes it easy to navigate and set your parameters meaning reduced cycle times and increased productivity. The intelligent design also means it fully ready for wireless communication applications.”

The unit features sophisticated software with semi-automatic control features to guarantee perfect welding results every time. It has a powerful output of up to 12,000 amps to cope with the toughest welding jobs and the cable arm is ultra strong with adjustable height, a telescopic support arm and an optional integrated balancer. This makes the CTR7 suitable for the higher height requirements of truck welding.

Stuart commented, "Visitors to the stand, including many from Ireland, were very impressed with the features and design of the CTR7. I really believe it heralds a new wave of welding technology in the bodyshop that brings a significant boost to repair productivity.”
