Blue Print puts critical Hybrid shutdown video online

Blue Print has added another video to its You Tube Channel, Blue Print TV, this time concerning the critical Hybrid shutdown process.

The video details the shutdown process that needs to be carried out when working on, or in the close proximity of, any part of the high voltage system on the Toyota Prius, Toyota Auris and Lexus CT200h models. This includes systems such as, the air conditioning compressor and rear suspension.

The video also explains that under no circumstances should a technician work on the high voltage system without the correct equipment and wearing the correct protective clothing. Working on these high voltage hybrid systems means potential exposure to voltages in excess of 200V which can cause serious injury or fatality. This makes observing the correct safety procedures critical whenever a hybrid car comes into a workshop.
