Opel Ireland has appointed Bill Sheehan & Sons to the Opel Dealer Network.

This appointment sees the introduction of the Opel franchise for New Vehicle Sales and Aftersales to the landmark dealership at Rathdown, Terenure.

Operating in the automotive trade in Rathgar since the mid-1950s, Bill Sheehan & Sons, a true success story of the automotive industry in Ireland, was formally established in the early 1960s from humble beginnings, when Bill Sheehan Senior began servicing cars from a small garage in Rathgar. The family run business has over the years employed three generations of the Sheehan family. Today, sixty years later, Dealer Principal, Michael Sheehan and his son, David Sheehan, are firmly recognised as pillars of the local community they operate in, enjoying a strong reputation for excellent customer service.

Speaking of the appointment, James Brooks, Managing Director of Leeson Motors, Opel Importer in Ireland said: "The addition of Bill Sheehan & Sons to the Opel Dealer Network comes at a momentous time for the Opel brand, as we launch an exciting new style signature and bring to market a whole host of new models in 2021, including the new Opel Crossland, due in January and the stunning new Mokka, in March. We will also rapidly expand our electric range across our passenger car and light commercial vehicle line-up and as such, Michael and his team have a key part to play in the Opel story, given their clear expertise in electrified vehicles."

He continued: "The appointment is also strategically very important to the Opel brand, in terms of the landmark location at Rathdown, which will undoubtedly grant us huge visibility in our capital. I warmly welcome Michael and David and their team to the Opel Dealer Network and I wish them every success with the Opel brand."

Michael Sheehan, Dealer Principal, said: "As a family business we are fiercely proud of our reputation and proven-strength in customer service, which has seen us grow over the decades to the strong business we are today. Adding Opel to our showroom presents us with much opportunity for further growth as the Opel brand rejuvenates its model line-up in 2021. We very much look forward to providing our customers with a full offering of Opel passenger cars and light commercial vehicle sales, services and parts."
