Audi Ireland has today announced that Andrew Doyle will step down as managing director of Audi Ireland. Doyle who was appointed managing director of Audi Ireland in 2010, will take up a new position as managing director of Audi Australia at the end of February 2013.


The recruitment of Doyle's successor is currently underway and this appointment will be announced in coming weeks.

Andrew Doyle, managing director Audi Ireland said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my years at Audi Ireland and it has been a pleasure working with the team here both on a professional and personal level."

"In the past two years, the Audi brand has gone from strength-to strength and we have maintained our position as Ireland's number one car marque for the fourth year in the row.  The Dealer Network has undergone a significant transition in Ireland with millions of euro invested to ensure long term sustainable growth and success. I am confident that Audi will continue to flourish in Ireland and I wish my successor and the team at Audi Ireland every success in 2013. It has been a hugely fulfilling experience and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead of me in my native country of Australia."

Simon Elliott, Group CEO at Volkswagen Group Ireland said: "I would like to thank Andrew for his hard work and commitment to the Audi brand over the last number of years. During this time, Andrew has overseen an extremely busy period for the brand and has helped grow the Audi car marque in Ireland and increase market share in the premium segment.  On behalf of everyone at the Volkswagen Group Ireland, we wish Andrew and his family every success for the future and we wish Andrew well in his new position at Audi Australia."
