If you are someone who has to wade through sweet wrappers, bottles and newspapers to get to the accelerator pedal, then take comfort in the story of a German woman who has been banned from the road because her car is just too untidy.

The woman in question was stopped on a motorway near Dusseldorf, as Police feared her Opel Astra was so full of junk, magazines, old clothes and even bits of furniture that it was dangerous to drive. The car will now have to pass a tidiness test before it is let back on the road.
