A high flying delivery

Aftermarket suppliers will often go to amazing lengths to get crucial parts to their customers, but few have the capacity to take to the sky. This was not the case for a motorist stranded on the A47 in Cambridgeshire in the UK last week, who arranged a delivery of a spare wheel by helicopter.

Local Police had stopped to help the motorist who had suffered a blow out. When they offered assistance he said he had everything under control and a replacement wheel would be delivered shortly. They were then left totally shocked when a helicopter appeared overhead and before landing in a nearby field. A replacement wheel was then produced from the aircraft and the wheel was changed.

A post on the force’s Policing Fenland Facebook page said, “We see lots of different things in this job, but this is a first."
