With over 175,000 KTS-series diagnostic testers sold worldwide since it was launched in the 1980s, and around 60,000 workshops throughout Europe using ESI[tronic], Bosch is celebrating this milestone with a range of incentives, for new and existing customers, all inspired by the number 25.

New customers will receive 25% off the RRP price of one year's subscription to ESI[tronic], making the extensive vehicle coverage database even better value for workshops in Ireland. New and existing three-year subscribers will receive four years' subscription for the price of three. Finally, Bosch is giving away 25 one year subscriptions for free, through a subscription prize draw.

Open to active subscribers only, the Bosch ESI[tronic] subscription prize draw will run from 1st July until 31st November 2014, with five lucky winners announced each month.

25 years of Innovation

In the 1980s, the launch of the KTS 300 heralded the start of a new era in the servicing and repair of vehicles. This was the first tool that could be used to diagnose more than one make of car. In this way, Bosch established itself as a leader in diagnostic equipment for the Automotive Aftermarket and has been at the forefront of development within the industry ever since.

Underpinned by the company's ESI[tronic] software, Bosch's advances have led the industry as mechanics have become technicians and have embraced electronic diagnostic tools. Designed as a comprehensive knowledge platform for technicians, ESI[tronic] provides detailed information and support that reflects the evolution, as electronics have played an increasing role in the development of vehicles

Continuous development and growth

Today it is almost impossible for a workshop to service or repair a vehicle without the best diagnostic equipment.

Unlike many companies offering diagnostic equipment, Bosch's development work and its global network of dedicated Data Engineering Centres (DECs) provide constant updates; ensuring workshops always have the latest data and the widest possible vehicle coverage at their fingertips.

The original KTS unit, known as the 'Bosch hammer' (thanks to its distinctive shape), was the first unit to communicate with multiple makes of vehicle. Today, Bosch embraces the All Make concept as ESI[tronic] 2.0 software can be used in conjunction with more than 180 vehicle brands and over 90,000 models from around the world.

Designed and produced in Germany, Bosch's KTS-series diagnostic testers receive continuous development and updates, along with enhanced technical documentation and a comprehensive training programme.

This provides technicians, garages and workshops with a simple, one-stop solution, providing all the knowledge, support and training required to get the best from their investment. With everything from training to remote support from a Bosch expert technician, Bosch's commitment to developing the ESI[tronic] platform ensures the KTS range remains an excellent, future-proof investment, too.

KTS equipment today

The current KTS range from Bosch has the perfect system for any size or type of workshop, depending on it's needs. From handheld through to fully integrated systems, the KTS range covers all aspects of diagnostics.

The KTS 540 and 570 offer workshops a module which turns its PC/Laptop into a full diagnostic machine. The KTS 570 comes with the addition of a 2-channel multimeter and 2-channel scope. Both the KTS 540 and 570 come with a Bluetooth USB stick which will work up to a distance of 100m, so the technician is not limited by the logistics of their workshop.

Both these modules come with a built-in and exchangeable multiplexer (automatic pin selection), so there is no need to buy a new unit when the car manufacturers decide to introduce a new system protocol - you simply exchange the multiplexer. This KTS unit is therefore future-proof. The KTS-series together with ESI[tronic] offers fully comprehensive support to the user, such as: ECU diagnosis, guided troubleshooting and repair instructions, wiring diagrams for convenience systems / body electrics, service and maintenance information, known fixes and service bulletins and a parts catalogue
