Philips’ RacingVision headlight bulb, developed by Lumileds, has been named Auto Express Headlight Bulb of the Year 2019 during the consumer motoring magazine’s annual product awards ceremony.

Lumileds Business Development Manager Automotive for the UK and Ireland, Richard Armstrong, said, “We are absolutely thrilled and very proud of the fact that RacingVision has been named Headlight Bulb of the Year once more. When the bulb was first tested, Kim Adams, who assessed the headlight bulbs for Auto Express, said: “Just when rivals catch-up, Philips’ automotive lighting takes another step forward.”

Philips RacingVision was the first halogen bulb to be rated at +150% brighter light1, for better visibility and contrast, and the specific colour temperature (up to 3500 Kelvin) of Philips RacingVision allows drivers to improve their focus. This performance translates into what can be a critical-safety advantage on the road.

Like all Philips automotive lighting products, the RacingVision bulbs are among the brightest, thanks to their optimised high-precision filament geometry, up to 13 bars of high-pressure gas filling, high-quality UV quartz glass with a uniquely patented partial gradient coating and a chrome top.

Philips RacingVision headlights are available in H4 and H7 variants and are on sale from authorised Philips stockist throughout Ireland.
