Lumileds urges workshops to use lighting checks to boost revenue

Lumileds, the company behind the Philips lighting brand, is recommending workshops offer a free lighting check to motorists before the spring and summer break, to provide a valuable revenue boost.

Richard Armstrong, Business Development Manager Automotive at Lumileds said, “Headlights should be checked periodically and when one is starting to fail, the bulbs should replaced - in pairs. Changing and upgrading a car's headlight bulbs before they burn out helps ensure optimum performance.” He adds, “Road safety starts with seeing and being seen which means good quality car lighting. The range of Philips bulbs is comprehensive and, as well as a full selection of replacement and upgrade Halogen and HID Xenon replacement bulbs, it also includes LED retrofit lighting options for cars using halogen bulbs.”

Richard points out that the tight confines and complexities of modern car engine bays can often mean that replacing a bulb can take a few hours, not something that a workshop wants to have to rectify at its own cost. He says fitting a high quality bulb from an OE manufacturer Philips will not only offer peace of mind to workshop and motorist alike, but it will give the workshop a higher margin on the product.

Perfect illumination is especially important for distance vision between 75-100 metres and Philips  RacingVision bulbs are some of the brightest halogen bulbs available providing up to +150% compared to the minimum legal standard. These are available in H7 and H4 variants.

In addition to Philips RacingVision, Lumileds also has a number of high style/high performance upgrades. For example, Philips X-tremeVision and Philips X-tremeVision G-force headlight bulbs produce up to 130% brighter light, without compromising on the bulb lifetime. With up to 450 hours, Philips X-tremeVision G-force's lifetime is significantly higher than competitor solutions in the high performance light category.
